Art with a nervous system
Ian Cheng has a background in both cognitive science and digital art. He explores how the mind works using AI. His work features mesmerising simulations where his tells stories around our ability to control emotions and to relate to change.
More recently, Cheng created BOB (Bag of Beliefs), an AI creature whose personality, body and life story evolve across exhibitions. He calls it “art with a nervous system”. Check out some of his exhibitions and interviews here.
